Practice Makes Perfect (Open?)

Heather sat, reading over the little skit that herself, Darren and Chris created. She couldn't help but laugh out loud at most parts, anyone who walked in may have thought she was a weirdo. Evaluating it, she thought it was really good. Heather admired the guys writing skills. She swung round in her chair, trying to keep on reading at the same time.

Darren spoke animatedly with Chris about Starkid(Chris being the only cast member that had actually watched the musicals and frequenly quoted) as they walked toward rehearsals. "Hey!" He grinned, seeing Heather reading over their lines. Truthfully, Chris had written most of it with Ryan and Ian. Even though Darren knew that none of them would stick to the right line on any of the nights.

"Hey guys!" Heather enthused, stopped her spinning and got up. She walked-all over the place-, looking rather drunk, clutching her head, over to meet them. "Dizzy." She pointed to her head and explained herself.

"Yeah, that's what happens when you spin, Heather." Chris adopted Kurt's sarcasm and Darren laughed. He bounced excitedly on the balls of his feet. "Have you guys seen the stage?" He asked. "It's awesome!"

"The spinning is worth the dizzyness and the dizzyness is worth the spinning." Heather beamed, her dizzyness wearing off. "I know right?!" She shouted, hearing soft repeats of what she said. "ECHO!" She then roared, pleased with the result.

Darren laughed at Heather and joined in. "It's awesome!" He yelled, causing an echo to elicit from the walls. Darren noticed Chris twirling a pencil between his fingers. "Sword withdrawal?" He suggested with a chuckle. "No, they're in my dressing room." Chris replied. "Holy crap." Darren laughed again. The entire cast knew about Chris' sai sword skills. He was awesome at it. "Anyway, guys, we should get out to the stage. Ryan wants us to run through the skit." He beamed.

"CHRIS! We should include that in the skit!" Heather's eyes were wide and her grin was huge. She loved Chris's hidden talent and always wanted to learn how to do it but then again feared for others and her own safety.

Darren started to agree enthusiastically like a suggestion for Disney Land(which he would probably be more excited now than when he was a child) but Chris cut in. "Oh, no." He chuckled. "Can't risk mutilating the audience.." He added. Darren clapped him on the back, laughing. "Come on, ninja."

"Think, what would Kurt do?" Heather stared off into the distance, her face wondering and thoughtful. "You could come up the stairs say your line and then go all ninja on me."

Darren chuckled, walking backwards to face them as he made his way toward the stage. "Or you could be casually spinning your swords as you walk up the steps." He suggested, not even bothering to turn back every now an again to make sure he didn't hit anything.

"And Y'know, your sword wouldn't fly far enough out of your hand to actually hit someone.! Heather laughed, but then worried of whether that was true or not, "Would it?" She wondered.

Darren pondered that for a second, Thinking about the able of trajectory before realising he had no idea what he was thinking about. He realised he was staring at Chris as he tried to figure out if his ninja skills could take out an audience member. He glanced at Heather when he was done. "Probably." He replied with a chuckle.

"Point taken." Heather nodded for awhile as she thought to herself. "Any other ideas?" She asked very upbeat. Spicing up each skit always made them more enjoyable, doing the same thing every show would soon get tedious after a while, no matter how funny it was.

Darren and Chris glanced at each other, both thinking of the bet they made. Chris had bet Darren that by the end of the tour, he'd make him laugh onstage. "I think we should improvise with each city." Chris replied, not revealing anything to Darren.

Heather looked at the boys, looking at eachother and grew suspicious. They were definitley up to something. "Okayyyyy.." She laughed, still looking at both of them but now with narrowed eyes.

Darren could tell that Heather was heavily suspicious so he decided to enlighten her. "See, Chris and I made a bet. He thinks he'll be able to get me to laugh onstage before the tour is over." He explained with a light chuckle as they drew nearer to the stage. "So he won't give any ideas so that I can prepare and make sure I don't laugh." He laughed again, realising that he made no sense. Darren stopped at the bottom of the staircase and Chris carried on down the hall to his own.

"Ohhhh." Heather giggled. "This should be interesting." She shook her head at them both. "Well Darren I don't think any amount of preperation will be able to stop you from laughing at whatever Chris is going to pull."

Although most people at this point would point out that they had sat--and acted--through A Very Potter Musical and Sequel--which were both extremely funny--, Darren didn't even think of it like that. And he wasn't one to brag so it didn't immediately jump to mind. He just chuckled lightly and shooed Heather to her own entrance.

Heather did as she was told and went to her entrance. As her eyes rested over the empty seats, she tried to imagine people there, and once she did she got the familliar butterflies in her stomach. Smiling brightly, Heather made her way up the steps and shouted, "Is everyone having a good time?". It sounded strange, that apart from her echo the room was completely silent. It was as if she expected her imaginary people to cheer aswell.

Darren heard Heather's voice from above, on the stage. He knew that the reaction wasn't coming, not today, anyway. He cupped his hands around his mouth and cheered loudly, tipping his head back slightly.

Heather giggled a bit at Darren's cheers but shook it off and sobered up. "So as some of you may know," She said each bit slowly, sounding embarrased and ashmaed of herself. "Last year, on tour, I confessed my love for Kurt."

Darren quietened down to listen to Heather's next sentence. When she mentioned last year and Kurt, Darren cheered again, taking a seat on one of the steps as he waited. He became quiet again to listen to the next sentence.

"But.. I'm not his type... So this year, I'm gonna go for someone I know I can get." Heather went on sounding less embarrased.

Darren laughed almost silently at the 'not his type' thing, and also in anticipation of what he knew was coming. He got to his feet again, half-wondering why the Hell he'd sat down in the first place. Just one more line...

Heather couldn't get the smile off her face to be even a bit serious, she turned and projected her voice to where Darren was waiting, as they didn't have their microphones on them, which was a bit strange. "Blaine Warbler, can you come out here?".
